To change the world, start with one step.
I’VE OFTEN BEEN told that I have too much faith in people. I’m not entirely sure that’s true. I believe honesty to be the most significant quality a human can possess. Every person has the right to know the truth. Every person lied to is being told that they’re not worth the truth. When someone lies to me, I take it personally, and it’s one the only things that can cause me to dislike someone. But even then, I give people second chances, and even more. I do this because I have faith in people, I believe people can change if they want to bad enough, that when faced with the option, they’ll almost always do the right thing.
Honesty is something you work at one small step at a time, but it doesn’t matter how small the step is because you’re getting somewhere.
I think the biggest problem in the world is people not learning how to accept others that are different from themselves. It’s about time people realize there are no duplications on this earth, everyone is their own person and everyone needs to be accepted for who they are, for what they choose to wear, for what piercings they decide to get, for what they’re interested in doing. I’m not saying there aren’t any evil people out there, for I know first hand that things happen, people are killed and hurt, but the majority of the human population isn’t immoral.
As someone walks down the street, they judge every person they walk by. People connect the way someone looks with their personality, and I’m not saying no one is allowed to think bad thoughts about others, but they have to keep their mind open enough to be proved wrong. The person they walk by on the street and judge, just might end up being their best friend.
